What this service does
RateWatch360 monitors mortgage market rates and sends alerts to people who ask for them. You tell us about your current mortgage and the rate that would make refinancing worthwhile for you; we email you if the market reaches your target.
Information we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, and a password (stored only in securely hashed form), or your name and email as shared by Google, Microsoft, or Yahoo if you sign in with one of those accounts. We never see or store those providers' passwords.
- Mortgage details you provide: your approximate current rate, loan balance, loan type, and alert preferences.
- Contact preferences: whether you want alerts by email or text, your phone number if you opt into texts, and a record of your consent (including time and IP address, kept for compliance).
- Basic technical data such as IP addresses in server logs, used for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
- To send the rate alerts and account emails you signed up for - one alert per rate event, no spam.
- To show you today's rate sheet and your watch settings.
- To follow up about refinancing options when your target rate is reached, per the consent you gave at signup.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't share your details with third parties for their own marketing.
- We don't pull your credit or verify your loan details - alerts are based only on what you enter.
Service providers
We run on Amazon Web Services (hosting, database, and email delivery). Your data is stored in the United States and handled by these providers only as needed to operate the service.
Your choices
- Pause or change your alert anytime from your dashboard.
- Opt out of emails using the instructions in any message, or reply STOP to texts.
- Ask us to delete your account and data by contacting us at the address below.
Data retention and security
We keep your information while your account is active and as required for legal and compliance purposes. Passwords are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing; data is encrypted in transit.
Children
This service is for adults arranging home financing and is not directed to anyone under 18.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update this page and the date above.
